Robert Mundle is a Registered Psychotherapist with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and mental health support. He works with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, chronic stress, and significant life transitions. His clinical experience includes extensive work in rehabilitation, complex medical care, and palliative care, bringing a deep appreciation for the challenges people face when navigating difficult experiences, loss, and unexpected changes in their lives.
Robert takes a collaborative, compassionate, and thoughtful approach to psychotherapy. He believes that meaningful therapeutic work involves more than symptom reduction; it also creates opportunities for greater self-understanding, emotional growth, healthier relationships, and a renewed sense of direction and purpose.
His therapeutic approach draws on several evidence-informed modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and narrative approaches to trauma. He also incorporates mindfulness, self-compassion, and emotion-regulation strategies, tailoring treatment to each client’s circumstances, needs, and goals.
In working with individuals, Robert supports clients in understanding and addressing patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaviour that may contribute to emotional distress or interfere with their quality of life. His work includes helping clients process traumatic experiences, navigate grief and loss, manage anxiety and depression, strengthen personal boundaries, and develop greater emotional resilience.
In his work with couples, Robert helps partners address conflict, disconnection, resentment, and difficulties with trust and intimacy. He works collaboratively with couples to better understand recurring relationship patterns, develop greater accountability and emotional awareness, improve communication, and foster deeper connection and partnership.
Robert’s professional background also includes more than a decade of experience in spiritual care within hospital settings. This experience informs his appreciation for the importance of meaning, identity, personal values, and human connection in the process of healing and change.
He holds a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from the University of Toronto, a Master of Sacred Theology from Yale University, and a Bachelor of Music. He is also an author and researcher whose publications include How to Be an Even Better Listener: A Practical Guide for Hospice and Palliative Care Volunteers.
Robert strives to provide a respectful, non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel heard and understood, and where difficult experiences can be explored with curiosity, compassion, and honesty. He views psychotherapy as a collaborative process that can help people move beyond familiar patterns, develop new perspectives, and create more meaningful and fulfilling lives.
